Visio Templates

In 2002 I was able to place a template in the category for org charts so that when I click on it the organizational chart menu appeared. In 2002 there were individual folders that contained files where the templates were stored. I know that you can use the tools menu to define a path, however, I still cannot get the org chart menu option to appear when I open the template.

In 2003, does anyone (how about an MS rep know where or how to store an org chart template so that it appears with the others in the drawing categories. Or does anyone know how to make the org chart menu appear on a custom template?

I'm not aware of a way to add custom templates into the existing content
categories for Visio 2003. The settings are stored in the Registry now
rather than relying on folders and file paths.

If you want a custom template to launch a specific solution, you need to
base your template off an existing one that has this capability.
Technically, documents can have special events called Persisted Events that
will load an add-on when the document is open. Your custom template needs
to have a persisted event to load the Org Chart solution. The Visio SDK has
a little tool to help you work with persisted events if you don't want to
start over from an existing Org Chart template.
