Visio text conversion/import to Excel or Word?

Is there a way to convert the text that is in VISIO (org chart) into an excel
spreadsheet or into a Word document? I'm not wanting to embed the org chart
into a document, just want the text from the VISIO document. I'm using VISIO
Professional 2003 SP2.

It is possible, but it would require writing some VBA code to walk the page
collections and for each page walk the shapes collection to harvest the
text. In addition to the text in the shape, there may be text in sub shapes
and in custom properties that may also need harvesting. The Connector
collection can also be traversed to harvest information on how the shapes
are connected.

Have you take a look at the visio reporting wizard ?
