Visio to Access

I am enrolled into a Database class and we are using Visio 2003 only as a
introduction tool not as an application to use throughout the rest of the
class. My instructor mentioned tthat there is a way to design a database in
Visio and then convert it over into Access. I have tried to use the EXPORT TO
DATABASE under TOOLS but all I got when I opened the pre-created database was
alot of gibberish. I am using Visio 2003 and Access 2003, what am I doing
wrong?

You are asking to generate an empty database from a schema that you drew in
Visio. Export to Database sends data from a Visio diagram to populate a
database.

The ability to generate a database is a feature of the Visio for Enterprise
Architects product, which ships with Visual Studio. Visio Professional only
has the ability to reverse engineer a database.
