Visio Toolbars

I created some custom toolbars using commands from the other toolbars. The
next time I opened Visio, however, the custom toolbars I created were nowhere
to be found. Is there some way I can save these toolbars and have them show
up every time I open Visio?

toolbar changes are usually saved in:

"<drive>\<path>\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\Visio\custom.vsu"

i found the problem you describe when i installed the "PDFmaker" option,
from the v2002 installation disk. this was true even though the user
account on my machine had Administrator privilege. when i removed
PDFmaker, the problem was fixed. if you still want to print to PDF, it
seems you can simply choose Acrobat as the default printer and avoid
using PDFmaker entirely. i haven't looked in a while and don't know
whether MS has posted a fix or URL for this.

If you have Adobe Acrobat 6.0, there is a known problem that causes custom
menus and toolbars to be lost in Visio. I'm not sure if Adobe has made a
fix available.

"PDFMaker" was on the Visio disk. i don't know who wrote it or where.
afik, MS hasn't offered any kind of fix or reference to a fixed version;
Adobe tech support never indicated any interest in pursuing the problem.
it seems the simplest solution is, 'don't use it'. and -that- condition
is not at all unusual.
