Visio Viewer fail to open!

I have a Windows XP SP2 pc with all updates....

Recently we have had to uninstall MS Security update 05-38 to resolve an
issue with Excel not dispaying help files successfully. This is not a problem
as this patch has been superceded by other patches, lastly 06-013. However,
we now find that our users can no longer use Visio Viewer to open VSD files.

We get a security warning dialog box, with Open, Save or Cancel options.

Clicking Open just flashes up an IE page and takes us back to the prompt
again.

We have tried reinstalling the 05-38 IE update and reinstalling the latest
Visio Viewer, however, this has not resolved the issue.

Any ideas?

If you find Visio Viewer in Add/Remove Programs, you may have success by
selecting the Change - Reinstall or Repair option. I have found in some
cases that it did not totally install and this simple repair resolved the
issue. Hope this helps.
