Visio Viewer - Shows blank page in Internet Explorer

Mike

I've deployed the Visio Viewer to some Terminal Servers running Windows 2003
x64 Server running IE6. The installation went perfect- however.

When trying to view visio documents, IE prompts me for an ActiveX control,
then the IE page is blank. I've tried everything to fix this but to no avail.

What I've tried
1. Denying an IE settings from GPO and lowering all the security settigns
2. Uninstalling/Reinstalling Visio Viewer 2003 (x86)
3. Found some post suggesting KB932168 could cause this. I've uninstalled
that hotfix. Didn't work.

None of this is helping.

Yea, I just tried that after I read your post. i believe the issue is because
the add on isn't loading in Internet Explorer.

If I manage add-ons I don't see the Visio Add-on listed.

Any help would rock. Thanks!

That's because it isn't an IE Addon.
The ActiveX control needs to be embedded in a web page.

Actually I was able to reproduce your issue without Terminal Services being
involved, I tested with Windows 2008. I think it has to do with your
settings for Internet Explorer. I had to disable IE’s Enhance Security in
order to get it to load. The other option would be to adjust the settings for
the Internet until the viewer starts to work. However the main objective for
the security is to protect the computer from certain active X controls you
should be very careful with this.
