Visio Web - Hide Certain Details

J

J

Hi,

Just wondering, I have created a floorplan which has been saved in to a web
page.

By holding the 'ctrl' key and by clicking on an item (say for example a
desk), I am able to see the details for that desk (referred to as a shape).
Next to each desk, I have assigned a persons name tag. This name tag includes
all the person's details (phone, position, etc).

Is there someway to link a shape (such as the desk) to the name tag
(referred to as a resource)? For example, If I were to click on a desk, it
would show the employees details instead. I am not interested in viewing
details relating to the desk itself or any other shape.

Finally, in the details section of the side bar, is there some way I can
include an employee's photo, so that it appears in the side bar when I click
a name tag on the diagram?

Your assistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks
J

Hello J,

Shape Data (or Custom Properties in older versions) have a 'Invisible'
property, which if set to True do not then appear in Save As Web output.
So, one strategy might be to have a page (or document level) user cell
called something like 'IsWebView' and have the shape data rows, you don't
want to appear, reference this cell. (If you've not come across the
ShapeSheet both, you might want to have a quick read of this post:

For the adding an image to the properties table you could take a look at
this post:

Hope that helps.

Best regards

John
