Visio is an Office "adjunct" program, a member of the suite but not included
in any office package. It's a powerful
diagramming/illustration/engineering/etc tool.
You won't likely find it for free anywhere (legally), but as a student you
are eligible for a discount. Visit
www.journeyed.com to check their
pricing. Microsoft also provides fully-functioning, time-limited trial
versions of their software; visit
www.microsoft.com/office for info. You
may also keep an eye on eBay to see if an attractive price comes up there.
Check your local used software dealers (Half-Price Books, et al) for
occasionally decent prices.
