I tried to create a simple ini file in the a program files folder and Vista
would not let me do so. The code was something like:
I = FreeFile
fName = thisworkbook.path & "\at systems report generator.ini"
Open fName For Output As #I
The above would crash on the Open statement. I tried manually to save a prn
file to the directory and got a permission denied error. Which is probably
the same as the path/file access error that appeared in VB.
I also tried to the windows temp directory, the windows directory, and the
user's temp directory. I tried using short file names and that did not make
a difference.
The only work around appears to be to save to the user's my document
directory. Which is bad for many reasons.
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks,
