Vista and Excel

I have a Vista Computer ... do NOT have Excel on my computer .. I have
downloaded 2 excel viewer programs now so that I can VIEW excel spreadsheets
from my work ... but each time I get a box that says that the view can not
open this type of file. but the extension names .xls is one of the extension
files that excel is suppose to open... so now I am frustrated because I don't
know what else I need to do to open these files. ANY SUGGESTIONS !?!?!?!?

You should ask your question in an Excel newsgroup. This newsgroup is for
Access, the Office database application.
