Vista and Front Page

I had XP Pro on my old desktop and used front page 2000 upgrade from 98. i
now have a Vista system on an HP dv7 laptop. I can no longer edit my
website as it won't accept my Frontpage disc. What can I do? I have the
2000 upgrade disc but can't fing the '98 original

Without the original full version you can't install the upgrade
You can try to contact MS to replace the FP 98 CD
(if it was registered, but they may no longer replace software that old)

If you can't find the FP 98 CD (or buy it on say Ebay)
- Upgrade to Expression Web (the replacement for FP)

Try this:

Copy all your front page files (from your old computer, especially the
exe file) onto a CD. Run the upgrade and when asked to insert your
original disk insert the CD. It might work.

Depending on how you want to run FP2000, it may be an exercise in
futility. I have installed it on my Vista (Home Premium) machine, it
will edit "local" webs residing on my computer, but will not connect
with a "live" web. It appears to be able to publish from local to
live. I've tried everything I can think of to get it to work, such as
running in various compatibility modes with no success.

The upgrade version of Expression Webs is only $99, I'd suggest going
forward with this option. You may have some small issues adapting to
EW from FP, but I think when you get used to it, you'll like it better
than FP.
