Vista attachments via e-mail

I am sending an e-mail attachment from Windows Vista. None of my friends
have vista and therefore can not open the attachment. If I cut and paste the
document from Microsoft Works Word Processor into 2007 Microsoft Office word
document will they beable to open it if they are running XP?

Windows Vista is the operating system and has no influence on the documents
that you create or the ability of your friends who may be using Windows XP
to open the attachment.

What is it that you are sending?

As Doug points out, Vista is the operating system, not the version of Word.
Save your Word 2007 document in Word 97-2003 format, and your recipients
will be able to open it. Alternatively, suggest that they download the free
Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007
File Formats from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...70-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en.
Not only will this enable them to open your .docx attachments, but it will
also give them the new "C" fonts from Office 2007.
