Vista Business Firewall vs FP2003

I haven't been able to publish FP2003 from my Vista [Business] Machine until
I completely turned the windows firewall OFF. I have added port 80 as an open
port exception and FP as an allowed program in windows firewall, but it still
won't publish (I get the "no server at port 80" error) unless I completely
turn off the windows firewall and then it works each and every time (aka
'reproducable')

So I know this isn't an FP thing as much as it is a firewall problem, but I
don't know what I am missing here.

Yes I have checked. There doesn't seem to be an issue with this elsewhere -
and I don't know why I am having a problem with it, but I can reproduce this
problem reliably. Port 80 is not blocked (in or out) and it is explicitly
open (both in AND out) yet if I enable (turn on) the firewall, I can't
publish from FP2003. As soon as I disable firewall, it works like it's
supposed to. Kind of frustrating.

Howdy!
I just got past a truly vexing problem with blend on vista ultimate.
it turned out to be UAC. click control panel/ user accounts/ admin account,
turn off UAC.
while it's not the best solution (especially because the OS will hassle you
to turn it back on) it worked for my problem and maybe for yours.
I'm currently looking into how to get certain programs past UAC but until
then I've got to leave it off.

Thanks Chris but I already shot that annoying UAC in the head - killed him
dead. I'm beginning to think it's some weird FP problem.
