Two linked databases (EPICS and CIMS) reside on XP server running ACCESS
2003. EPICS and CIMS are linked by a table. Some users have XP OS and
either ACCESS 2003 or 2007 and can open and work in either database.
Some users have Vista and ACCESS 2007. They can open EPICS but not CIMS.
When attempting to open CIMS, they get error message, "The operating system
will not allow the Microsoft Access database engine to create a lock file
(.LDB) in the same directory where the database file resides. You need to
have write privileges to the directory that contains the database you are
trying to open. This error can also occur if you are trying to use the
passive shut down/connection control feature while the database is opened
exclusively."
Both EPICS and CIMS are set to allow all users all permissions.
Any help appreciated.
