Vista Home Premium & Office 2K7 - Win Update says Outlook 2007, which I don't have?

Walter Cohen

I have Vista Home Premium and have, in the past, gotten notified by Windows
Update for "Update for Windows Mail Junk Email Filter" which I have applied.

Now I received a Windows Update that says it is for "Update for Outlook 2007
Junk Email Filter (KB934655)". This is part of Office 2007 but why would I
received that update as I don't have Outlook 2007 installed as part of
Office?
More importantly it keeps bugging me to install it....so how do I get rid of
it?

Thanks,
Walter

You are unable to install it?
AFAIK, the Outlook Junk Email Filter update is offered once you have
Office 2007 installed, whether you actually have Outlook or not.

Hi Walter,

What edition of MS Office 2007 do you have? All except the Home & Student Edition include MS Office Outlook 2007. The updates
offered for Office are based on the Product features, rather than what features you have selected to use.

If you are using MS Update set to prompt you before installing updates and use custom rather than express you should be able to
check the 'don't ask me again' for a specific update or visit the MS Update website and mark the update there.
