I have a about 7 users that are using Windows Vista Business x32 with Outlook
2007. But one of them is having connectivity issues. We are using exchange
2003 enterprise SP2 on a single server. Every so often his Outlook will lock
up and say that connection to the exchange server has been restored. I check
the machines event log and all it states is Event 26 "Connection to Microsoft
Exchange has been lost. Outlook will restore the connection when possible."
then six second later it says Event 26 "Connection to Microsoft Exchange has
been restored." The only difference with this individual’s machine is it is
a laptop so he is using cache mode and he access exchange both in the office
and over VPN.
Here are some of things I have tried to fix this problem with no success
- Disabled RPC
- Rebuilt his ost
- Turn off autotuning and on
- Ran Office diagnosis
- Downloaded and installed all updates for Vista, Office, and Exchange
- There are no POP3 accounts in outlook
- Cleanup his inbox
- Scanned his machine for any hardware issues - non found
- Followed all instructions in KB932086
- Tried it with IPv6 on and off
- Used Negotiate Authentication and NTLM
This issue happens both in the office behind our firewall and over VPN.
There are no events recorded on exchange except under Security it shows him
logging off and then back on.
Any ideas you have would be great. Thanks.
