Vista Running Outlook 2003

I made the mistake of trusting Vista with my email accounts moved from
an XP machine. After running for 3 days now Outlook loads up, and
once it's up it immediately shuts down. I'm screwed. I have the PST
file which I can move back to my old XP machine, but I can't recover
the emails. Is there anyway this problem can be fixed?

Which particular problem? You mention not being able to recover the emails
on XP as well as not being able to start Outlook on Vista. Since I prefer
Vista, I'll start there.

What happens if you do Windows Key - R and run outlook /safe?

Hi,
If you are unhappy with windows vista and outlook combination, its better to
first safe guard you pst file and then decide to move on to WINXP or not

Check this location to take backup of your pst files without opening outlook

c:\documents and settings\ user name \ application data\microsoft\outlook.

just copy to any location or removable media. ( better option, a thumb drive
will be fine)

Hope this works

Vista doesn't HAVE that location. The default location in VISTA is as
follows:
C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook
