Vista Word 2007 Crashes

Hello,

I am using Vista Ultimate with the new Office 2007 on a high end Toshiba
Laptop. Had been working well but Word now crashes after use it once, I mean
first time works, but when closed can not re-open without having to reboot.

I run Word in "Compatability mode" for XP as my clients are still on XP and
can't usethe new format yet. My suspicion is that a new program I started
using, ScanSoft PaperPort 11, may be the culprit as it was after usingit that
the problems started. That program makes PDF's of word docs. I have checked
the updates for both programs, installed SP1 for Vista, re-installed Office,
and ran the office diagnostics, and still having the problem. Diagnostics
returned:

Yes: ScanSoft is incompatible with Office 2007. Check with ScanSoft to see
if they have updated their macros that get plugged into Office.
