Visual Basic Error

G

Gus Porteners

I recently installed Office 2003 (Teachers edition).
I am using Windows XP.
Each time on ending a Word 2003 session I get a Microsoft Visual Basic
error message, saying that Object variable or With block variable is not
set.
I had a Visual Basic 6 Working Model Edition installed but removed it
using the Control Panel.
However, the message still keeps turning up.
I will be grateful for any ideas to get rid of it.

Hi Gus,

You have an add-in, probably from some third-party software, that
contains a badly written macro. I doubt that the VB6 had anything to
do with it. The error message is coming from "Visual Basic for
Applications" which is part of Office, and not at all the same as VB6.

See section 4 of
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm for
troubleshooting steps.

Thank you Jay for your quick response.
The peculiar thing is that I upgraded to Office 2003 from Office 2002
Professional and it never happened there. The only thing installed after
that was the Office 2003 service pack.
One of those things?
Gus
