Visual Basic w/o full Office suite?

I have the Mac versions of Excel 2004 and Word 2004, but not part of the
Office 2004 suite. I want to create scripts (using VBA) in Excel, but I
can't seem to do this. Do I need the full Office suite to do this?

Hi,

What happens if you use the Tools menu and choose Macros? Are you
offered the visual basic editor?

If not, did you try running the installer program? Take the custom
install route to be sure you get the visual basic programming stuff.
