Good evening,
I am a long time reader and have learned so much from this group. THANK YOU
ALL

I have a basic working knowledge of some of the Functions in EXCEL and have
copied a lot from this group and pasted into my "Cheat Sheet", when your
memory starts fading you have to cheat...

One quick question for you gurus.

If what you knew about Visual basic were put in a sewing thimble would
rattle (my case) what books or material would y'all recommend for a pure
novice?

Under VBA, any of the first three listed and any other by John Walkenbach.

Also Reed Jacobsen books are generally pretty good in my experience.

I second Gord's opinion about John Walkenbach's books. I have his Excel
2003 Bible, which doesn't have much about VB but explains a bit about
how it works with XL. I also have his Excel 2003 Power Programming with
VBA which can be filed under the heading of "Excellent".

Of course, I'm not a professional 'pooter user but have learned enough
to be tagged as the "Office Guru". I have developed a couple of
spreadsheet applications which are used by my government employer and
work quite well. However that doesn't mean I'm good at it, just that
everyone else is worse

However with the latter book as a guide you'll learn a lot. Debra's
site is also great for information.
