Visual C++ Runtime Error when editing CSS file

I'm using FP 2000 and have an exisitng Cascading Style Sheet within my web
site. Recently when tring to edit the CSS, I get a Visual C++ Runtime Error
when saving the CSS file which crashes FP:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program c:\program files\microsoft office\office\frontpg.exe
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.

The only option is to click Okay, which then crashes FP.

Any suggestions?

Open FrontPage, click Help and then Detect and Repair.

Saving CSS files in FP 2000 is a bug that will remain unfixed
- edit your CSS files in notepad or a CSS editor
