Visual C++ Runtime Error when opening MS Outlook

I have a Sony Vaio w/Office XP Home Service Pack 2 and MS Office. System
worked fine for 30 days then the HD crashed and Sony sent a tech to put in a
new HD, then my problens started. When trying to open MS Outlook, I get a
Visual C++ Runtime Error and Outlook shuts down. Contacted Symantec who told
me to turn off email scanning but that did not solve the problem. Then
Symantec told me is was either a MS or Sony issue - thanks! On other
troubleshooting sites I have seen similar problems but after reading info on
this site it looks like it may be a MS Word compatibilty issue with Norton
Anit-Virus since MS Outlook is use Word as an email editor, but since I
cannot Outlook, there is no way for me to cahgne email editors or otherwise
troubleshoot this issue. Has anyone seen this before????
