Visual FoxPro and Excel 2003

Our company has a legacy FoxPro application that we are just about to get rid of. One of the things this program does is export reports to Excel. All of the PC's except for a few have Windows 2000 Pro and Office 2003 pro installed. All of the latest service packs for the operating system and Office have been applied. Everyone used to be using Office 97 previously before the upgrade.
The problem is that when you select export from the FoxPro app nothing happens except the FoxPro app crashes. When everyone had Office 97 it worked fine. Anyone else had problems after upgrading from 97 to 2003?
