Visual Notification of New Mail has stopped working

Anyone else having issues with visual notification of new emails?
I used to have the pop up on the lower right corner of my screen. I did the
last office update a little while back and that is now gone. It is still
selected in my preferences, so I don't know why I only get an audio alert to
new mail.
Any ideas?

Hi Ian,

there seems to be a problem with the mail notification feature on Intel
Macs. It's not working for me, either, so I guess we'll have to wait till
Microsoft releases a patch.

I am using a MacBook Pro & it did work for me for a while... But now
doesn't, I'll have a look & get back to you.

Yep. It worked for me when I first got the MacBook Pro like 6 months ago...
But after the latest office patch it stopped.
