Visual Studio .NET has a known compatibility issue??

Hi!!
okay here is the story and the reason I've posted this on this forum. I have
installed windows 2003. I have then installed IIS, then installed WSS and in
the end i've installed MS Project Server 2003.

Now when I try to install VS.NET it gives the following error:

Visual Studio .NET has a known compatibility issue with this version of
Windows and might not run as expected. Active Server Pages (ASP) and
FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE) must be enabled. Visit the following Web
page for instructions on how to enable these services:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q329473 For more
information, contact Microsoft.

I have checked both, Active Server Pages (ASP) and FrontPage Server
Extensions (FPSE) are enabled/Allowed. It has a continue button but im not
sure if i wana do that.. cz i've recently configured Project Server and dont
want to do the reformatting and reinstallation thing...

So is it due to Project Server or what?? any idea??
one last thing, im sure that it doesnt have nay compatibility issue with
windows 2003 as i wanted to install VS.NET before i installed WSS and Project
server and there was no such message.. but i didnt start the installation
just to make a conflict proof installation of project server

Hi,

What are you trying to achieve? Normally Project Server on its own is enough
workload and it's not usual to install and use Visual studio on Windows 2003
server is it? I suspect you need to decide what the server should do and
leave it at that. Installing VS as well is going to cause conflict of
purpose at the very least.

Hi,

maybe it´s "not usual" to install VS on Windows Server 2003, but not
everybody has several server to be available for development.
So if you "only" wanna write code for the PDS/ProjectServer do not install
the WSS on the same server, that´s the experience i´ve made
in several installations.
At the moment i´ve installed windows server 2003, sql 2000, projectserver
2003 and vs .net 2003 on the same machine.
It works fine for testing purposes, but that´s of course not a productive
installation

greets
Maik
