VLOOKUP

Hi all,

I am using a VLOOKUP to search a table on another worksheet
within the one workbook. Is a VLOOKUP able to return a
value in a column prior to the target info. What I mean is
if the search item is in column C can I get the vlookup to
return the corresponding data in column A? I have not been
able to get that to work as yet. Most likely it is me
however. Any advice would be great.

No, VLOOKUP can not look to the left (US version). There is a workaround
(and several variations) at http://www.cpearson.com/excel/lookups.htm

Thanks, that is fantastic...solved my problem. I wouldn't
have been able to do that in a pink fit. J.
