vlookup?

Hey somethime the Vlookup function does not work correctely. I don't know
why, but sometimes I have to keypuch one of the searched bumber over again
befor Vlookup recognises the number. Does anybody khow why? and how to
chache the number without keypunching the whole list!

This can happen when numbers are actually text. In other words, a cell may
look like a number, but Excel considers it text. The easiest way to force
all cells to be numbers is to copy a blank cell, select the range you want
to convert to numbers, then paste-special, choose Value and Add, and click
OK.
