You can set different sounds based on conditions by using rules.

It's pretty basic;

Tools-> Wizard Rules...
Check when message arrives
(insert condition)
play specific sound

i can no find in Outlook Express 2000 such option in Tools > Message Rules >
Mail rules. There are options to block emails based on subject, from, cc,
etc And possible actions is delete / block sender / move to specified
folder/ etc No "play specific sound" option.

However this outlook 2000 is old and unreliable, not sure it can do
something really handy

That's because you don't have Outlook 2000. Outlook Express is not Outlook
and is a totally different program and covered in a diff forum. You don't
have any rules in OE. The best you can do is add a New Mail notification
sound in Control Panel, Sound Scheme. And it will be only one sound.

In addition to Mary;

Note that this is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

Here is the link for the right forum

Good Luck!

Outlook 2000 doesn't have a "spam" folder.
