How do you setup Outlook 2003 to use click-to-call to Outlook Contacts
utilizing a VOIP telephone modem/line/connection?

I am utilizing Comcast Digital Voice that has a modem/VOIP combined device.

I would look to Comcast to set this up since Outlook uses Windows dialer for outside non-mail communications. Comcast should be able to assist - use their considerable help forums.

The service needs to provide you with an modem driver that supports
outlook - you'll need to check with Comcast to see if their driver supports
it. A very, very few voice services do, most do not.

They have supplied a combined Modem and ATA? What brand and model?
You'd need a regular old-type (Parallel Port, Card, USB) 56k modem from your
computer to a line on the ATA/Modem (not to any PSTN pass-through ports on
the supplied Modem/ATA if you have them). Then (preferably) a telephone
connected to the Phone jack on the 56k modem. Dial using Outlook then pick
up that phone after you have dialed. You essentially only use Outlook to
initiate the call and then the phone acts as a pass-through.
