Volume control in PP

I've a presentation using the full screen, so the task bar is not showing.
I need to be able to alter the sound volume during the presentation, but I
cannot find any way to do it without using a volume control on an external
amplifier/loudspeaker.

Is it possible to control the volume from the keyboard under that
condition?

Hi Brian

It depends on the laptop or keyboard - for example I have a Dell laptop and
can use Fn+ Page Up/Down to control the volume and I have a fancy stand alone
keyboard with a volume knob on it. I don't know of any way to apply a
keyboard shortcut to volume control I'm afraid.

An alternative is to control the volume of the sounds in PowerPoint: Right
click on the sound object -> edit sound object -> little picture of a speaker
allows you to change volume.

Most of the laptops have volume control keys either separately or through Fn
key combination. If your laptop does not have such a thing, you can use
Shortcuts for PowerPoint add-in from
http://officeone.mvps.org/ppshortcuts/ppshortcuts.html - among other
shortcuts, it adds keyboard shortcuts for increasing/decreasing volume
during slide shows.

Sometimes the presentation is via a laptop; sometimes not. In my own case
I do not have a laptop, so that's out!

If the presentation is 'full screen', there is not loudspeaker icon
visible. When doing public presentations it's rather better to use full
screen so that there are no distractions.

Ah! Thank you for that link. I'll go there and see what's available. Not
having a laptop, it did not occur to me that there might be a Fn key
method.

Ooops! Have just discovered that the shortcut keys have disabled my
lowercase 'r' when typing within PowerPoint, so I've had to disable it!
