Volume License Keys and Retail Media

I need to rebuild one of my churches PCs. We have volume license keys
for Office 2003 Pro but the person that has the installation media is
currently out of state. Can I use a retain Office 2003 Pro CD to do the
install or do I have to wait until he gets back in a week? The user of
that PC does not want a doorstop for a week.

Hi bxb7668,
You can use a retail copy to rebuild the drive, just retain all relative
installation media, cd(s), key code, local installation files, for later
updates etc...
The only thing your out is the $ amount for the retail full version. You
should also label the drive as "retail version" or such for later reference.

Actually I was asking if I can use a retail CD with the volume license
key already owned by church. I have the retail CD for my home PC. I
don't have a spare copy to donate to church.

bxb7668,
You know by doing this you'll scew the machine's Windows installer
information and will have problems applying updates / upgrades if you are
successful in the installation.
Also there are the eula agreements to consider.
