VPN and Outlook

The President of our company (of course this has to happen
to him) is accessing Outlook 2000 via DSL thru our VPN
(Netscreen). Everything works fine except when he tries
to reply to a message especially one from outside the
company. It seems to time out and then it errors out. If
you click on anything it comes right back and works but
you cant reply. You can send new and do all other
functions thru the VPN but reply.

He has a P4 with 512MB Memory in his laptop. He is going
over a Verizon DSL connection.

Anyone seen this before or have any ideas it would be much
appreciated.

Does he have an OST file configured? If not, I'd give him one, and set up
Outlook to prompt to connect or work offline at startup - have him choose
work offline. You can tell Outlook to sync every X minutes while offline.
This often helps with remote users using VPN.....
