I have an Access 97 db that is split into a front and
back end. I have instructed the users not to access the
database remotely either by VPN, dial-up, or at a remote
location over the WAN as this greatly increases the
chances of corruption. However, all users do not follow
instructions and some have accessed the database
remotely. Is there a way for me to test if the user is
remote prior to opening the db. I actually have a VB exe
that runs some checks prior to opening the database so I
could add the code in there. Not sure if I can test
using something like an IP address. Any suggestions are
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
