Vsio: Enterprise Architect or 2003 Pro?

J

Jon Davis

I just purchased MSDN Universal, which comes with VS.NET 2003 Enterprise
Architect and Office 2003 Pro. Both packages offer a version of Visio, but
it looks like the one that comes with VS.NET is based on v2002 not 2003.
They install side-by-side but must repair themselves when they run after the
other one has run.

Which version should I use? I would only use Visio for software and network
design (primarily software).

Thanks,
Jon

Visio 2002 found in VEA has advanced functionality for software design not
found in Visio 2003 Pro

Your only issue will probably be file types, as the *true* Visio 2003
introduced a new binary format. But as long as you limit yourself to
opening and saving Visio 2002 (or previous) file types, you'll be fine.
