vti private folder

I have noticed that when I open ftp, I have a couple of folders on my
website on my computer side that aren't showing up on the live site such as
the vti_pvt folder and the vti_cnf folder. I used to use front page
extensions, but uninstalled them because I have some php scripts on my site
that my client can update and take care of themselves. I was afraid when I
try to publish, it would overwrite their folders and information, so now I
just ftp my changed folders. However, when I just made my Form page for the
site, I can't get it to work.
thanks again.

The FP form handler requires the FP SE and http publishing
- you will need to set up a PHP forms handler if you don't want the FP SE

What does that mean? I like to use the publish and front page extensions,
but when I add php scripts, I thought I had to ftp the changes over, so not
to overwrite anything. Can you tell me exactly what I need to do?
Thanks,
Lisa

Just because you are using server side scripting you do not need to FTP
- use FP http mode to publish
