vti_syncwith_ ... ?

I have found the following lines in the files that are in the _vti_cnf
folders:

vti_syncwith_dt1.netfirms.com\:80:TR|08 Oct 2004 16:14:40 -0000
vti_syncwith_localhost\\c\:\\temp\\deltat1/c\:/temp/deltat1:TR|12 Oct 2004
21:08:21 -0000
vti_syncwith_localhost\\f\:\\temp\\deltat/f\:/temp/deltat:TR|12 Oct 2004
21:08:21 -0000
vti_syncwith_localhost\\e\:\\temp\\deltat/e\:/temp/deltat:TR|06 Nov 2004
09:55:03 -0000

I think that the first line is causing a problem that I have with a search
feature that doesn't work on this page:
http://www.deltat1.com/search/

The results of the search component have :8000 after the .com and so they
don't hyperlink properly.

I've tried publishing the search page here:
http://dt1.netfirms.com/search/

And it works. i.e. the search results don't have the :8000 after the .com

Both search pages were published from the same place.

Does anybody have any ideas here?

Thanks.

It is not the _vti folder, it is how your host has their server's configured.

dt1.netfirms.com is a subdomain under netfirms.com

www.deltat1.com is your domain which is being pointed on the server to dt1.netfirms.com

The FP extensions are applied to dt1.netfirms.com, not www.deltat1.com

You need to contact netfirms to resolve your issue.

But isn't it my local copy of FP that's creating this file and loading it
onto the server with the dt1.netfirms.com pointer embedded in it?

No. The _vti folders are never published between machines. The extensions on each machine create and
manage the _vti folders as need on that specific machine.

Hi Thomas,

dt1.netfirms.com is just a backup subdomain on netfirms.com that I use.

My web site www.deltat1.com points to www.deltat11.netfirms.com and when I
try and use the search form from there it produces the same :8000 result
set. So:

www.deltat1.com/search/
and
www.deltat11.netfirms.com/search/

both don't work in the same way.

But when I load the site to:
www.dt1.netfirms.com/search/

then the research results show something that it is supposed to show (i.e.
without the :8000 appended to the .com in the hyperlink of the result set).
And I can't figure out why loading it to www.dt1.netfirms.com would work and
the other wouldn't work.

Thanks
Guy

www.deltat11.netfirms.com is a subdomain of netfirms.com

You need to have an account that has an IP address assigned directly to www.deltat1.com

Ok, then netfirms doesn't have www.deltat11.netfirms.com configured the same way as they have
www.dt1.netfirms.com

FYI: You are always better off having an static IP Address account for your domain.

Thomas: How can one tell if the IP address of a certain web address (such as
www.deltat1.com) is static or not?

Also: What advantage does the static address give you?

Many thanks for the info. I'm battling with the hosting service to try and
get them to explain to me why one works and the other doesn't but haven't
managed to get a sensible answer out of them. I've said this before and I'll
say it again. I do NOT recommend Netfirms.com

If you can get to the site via it IP Address, then it is static.

The advantage of static IP address is that it only points to your domain name, you can have
dedicated SSL certificate, you can reach it via it IP Address, etc.
