Hi,
I am trying to help a friend with her comptuer, she had a bug, w.32 Netsky
in her Inbox.dbx file.
What happened to her computer, is that she let someone try to back up her
comptuer and he didn't know what he was doing. So now all of her files had
been gathered up into one folder.
Included in this folder is the inbox.dbx file.
I went to www.symanetic.com and it was their scan that told me netsky was
there. Trend Micro didn't pick anything up.
Then I run symanetec's netsky remover, and it tells me there is no netsky,
then I run the scan and it tells me its there. It goes in circles.
I don't use Outlook at all, so I know very little about it.
I came here, hoping for the kindness of others to help me clean this up.
1. Can anyone tell me where I can put this inbox.dbx file so outlook will
open it up?
2. How can I tell which email has the netsky in it?
I hope that once I am able to open up that one file, and I run the scan
again, I hope it will tell me which email has the bug in it. So I can delete
it.
Is this sound thinking?
Any advice would be really really appreciated!!!
Thanks a bunch!
