W2000: Search for Links in document

F. Petri

Hello,

I would like to find every link which is contained in my word document
but could not find this option in the "Search" dialog.

Any ideas?

Hi F.

If these are links inserted with fields, then you can proceed as
follows.

1. Tools > Options > View. Set Field Shading to Always. Fields will then
be shaded in grey, which will help you distinguish them from "ordinary"
text. The shading won't print. You can re-set this later if you don't
like seeing the shading.

2. Alt-F9. This will expose all the field codes.

3. You can then search and replace text in the field codes.

Hope this helps.

(after you follow 1-3, you can insert the placeholder for "Fields" under the
"Special" button in the Find/Replace dialog.
You can for example search for hyperlings using "^d HYPERLINK" or "^19
HYPERLINK" in "Find what:")
