I'm trying to import the address book from my old computer to the "new"
computer given to us by my dad. The old computer is Windows ME and had
Outlook Express. The new one is XP (just installed the Service Pack 2) and
has Outlook (also updated Office XP today). What I have tried already is:
1. Put the old address book onto cd then the desktop of the new machine,
then tried to import it from there. 2. Tried to open the .wab file, then
copy and paste the names into my new address book (wouldn't let me copy
them). 3. Tried to email the .wab as an attachment to myself onto my
Outlook inbox and get it off there (didn't work).
The thing is I KNOW I got our addresses from a cd onto my dad's Outlook once
while travelling, I just can't remember how. Then before we came back
overseas I deleted them again. I know it took me a few hours and then when
it happened it seemed a fluke. We have a contact list of about 300, sure
don't want to retype them!!
I have not fully transferred the data from our old computer to our new b/c
the old computer is a mess and not running well. So I was selecting the
important stuff and using cds to get it on the new machine. Thank you for
any help.
