Wacky behavior with subwebs

P

Paul Wanuga

I've got an interesting problem that I haven't yet seen
addressed in any of the posts.

I am the administrator of our MS Project Server
environment. Suddenly, I can no longer create nor delete
STS subwebs for any of my projects! I can do so if I go
in through Sharepoint's admin page, but not through
Project Server's Web Access. I get an "Authentication
failed" VBScript popup window when either deleteing or
creating a subweb from Admin->Manage SharePoint Team
Services-->Manage subwebs.

Help????

Paul:

When things happen "suddenly" it's a good bet that someone changed something
on the server, performed some maintenance, or made changes to network
configuration or users. Troubleshooting stuff like this is so much fun! I
suggest that you reboot the server, or at least stop and restart IIS as a
first step. After that, I'd look at the component services and make certain
that your Com objects are properly instantiating and make sure that your STS
application accounts aren't locked out or have passwords that expired. I'd
try dumping the proxy server settings and resetting them as a next step. Let
us know if any of this helps.
