Is it true that a Wacom Penpad (as Voilo) cannot be used for Handwriting in
OneNote? What products can actually be used for this?

Thank you!

support.

Why is that so? Maybe a marketing decision to push TabletPCs? I think it would
not be that difficult to support these products as handwriting-input-devices on
winxp he/pro, would it?

So there is absolutely no way to import handwriting in Onenote / Winxp Pro?

Thank you! Dirk

There are some technical issues with the capture rates on Wacom tablets
- they're not as high as Tablet PCs so the results are not as good.

Ink recognition is supplied by the TabletPC OS, and is not available on
other versions of Windows for the kind of ink that OneNote collects. See
other posts in this newsgroup for the longer version of this explanation.

Hello Dirk,

there are technical issues in the current version of WinXP.
The Ink support comes with the TabletPC OS and that's
why it isn't supported on any other edition of Windows XP.

There are rumors that this design may change with the
Longhorn version of the TabletPC OS, but as you
probably guess, Longhorn is still a long way to go.
So there is absolutely no way to import handwriting
in Onenote / Winxp Pro?

To avoid confusion, you can open and read OneNote
files with ink on a Windows XP desktop OS, but
you can write in ink.

Regards
