want to be done with workgroup files and user level security

I have a 2003 database that uses a workgroup information file and user-level
security. I'd like to be rid of both, and I've read that updating to 2007
format (.accdb) will take care of that. I did try a Save As to 2007, but I
was still prompted for a login password via the workgroup information file
when I tried to open the database. Is there more required for me to do to
get rid of the cumbersome workgroup file and ULS?

Open Access using your secure workgroup and log in as someone with
administrative permissions, then open your file.

Grant FULL permissions to the default group 'Users' to the database object and
all other objects.

Now the file should be able to be opened with any workgroup file.

Thanks Rick. Do I also need to tell Access not to seek out the workgroup
information file?

One other complication that I forgot to mention is that I have other 2003
database that I am not updating to 2007. Will I also need to grant full
permissions to the Users group for these databases?

If you have made a secure workgroup file your default then that will not change
just because you remove security from a file (so yes).

If you don't want then to have security any more then yes.
