Want to load only part of MSOffice Pro Plus 2007

I apologize for previously forgetting to fill in the subject line....

I am running msoffice 2007 with Vista on my laptop. I wanted to add MS Access
2007 so I purchased a student/faculty MSOffice Pro Plus 2007 with the
intention of only adding Access to my laptop. aughhhh I've now been told by
the folks at journeyEd where I purchased this product, that I must remove any
MS Office on my laptop and just load their version. I really don't want to do
that. Does anyone know if there is a way for me to load just the MS Access
from this special student/faculty CD? Thanks in advance. OF course this
product is not able to be returned now..... Do you think I need to just sell
it and buy Access 2007 on its own?

Check your previous post for answer.

Choose Custom Install and select only Access and components

Peter, this CD does not load and offer an installation type: auto or custom.
When I put the CD in I'm asked to start the .exe file and then it does
nothing. I was told it's because I already have 2007 loaded on my machine.
THis is a special student/faculty sales item, but it can't be that special
because they must sell a million of these!

Open the cd in explorer
double click setup.exe
what happens, you may have to wait a minute,?

Hi Mom,

You didn't mention the other edition of Office 2007 you already have installed, but I'm not clear on your reason for installing only
Access 2007 from the Professional Plus edition rather than
-backup your files
-uninstall Office 2007 (old edition)
-Restart PC
-Install Office 2007 Professional Plus.
As a MS Office Product license for a suite can't be separated (i.e. you don't gain an additional machine license by putting Access
on one machine and Word, Excel et al on another from the same package). If your other copy isn't an OEM (preinstall on new
machines - license to a particular machine) then uninstalling that copy would allow you to use it on a different computer at some
point.

In some cases where you're having issues with the CD/DVD you may want to try copying the content to your hard drive first and see if
you can install from there.

While the new file structure/architecture of the 2007 Microsoft Office System is more flexible than that of previous editions, there
can still be odd issues with updates and such popup when you have two 'suites' of the same edition installed together (Microsoft
ships a 'hybrid' merge of Basic and Professional as part of new PC trial editions, and adding other Office 2007 products does seem
to confuse that product).
