Want to replace a reporting tool with excel - is it possible?

I use a reporting tool on the web pages.

Because of some resons I want to replace that with excel tables or charts.

Database changes every minutes.
I want to show users charts with updated data when users request the excel
report on IE.

Is it possible?
If so do I have to get a new license?

You should look at the Office Web Components.. but note they do have tricky
licensing issues...
