Want to turn off reminders in iCal and keep reminders in Entourage

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Email Client: pop I have reminders popping up from iCal which I'm not using anymore. I just want the reminders to appear from Calendar in Entourage. How do I stop the iCal?

I turned off the setting in iCal preferences but it's still happening.

Turn of syncing to iCal in Entourage preferences.
Open iCal and delete all entries.

Thank you very much -- turning off the sync worked. I thought that was something that was supposed to stay on.

It's funny that none of this is documented in the tutorials.
