Why not just turn on form A's "Record Selectors"
property? The record selector will automatically display
a circle with a slash through it if another user is
locking a record. (...and, of course, you first have to
make sure the "Record Locks" property is set to "Edited
Record".)
Using this built-in feature is much easier than building a
new form that provides similar functionality.
