Was the 12.1.5 update pulled?

Hi all...

I have two machines with (one with 12.1.3 installed and one with 12.1.4
installed), but Microsoft AutoUpdate isn't finding the 12.1.5 update.

Anybody know if 12.1.5 was yanked for some reason?

The update might not available via AutoUpdate yet, even though I seem to
remember other users stating that it is. Nevertheless, you can download the
updater from Mactopia; try this link:

D3FB14/Office2008-1215UpdateEN.dmg>

If the above link does not work, try this one instead:

Oh, I know the manual link is there, but I'm concerned that if MS
yanked the "public" autoupdate version, that there's some issue they
discovered.

I just checked again today (3:30 p.m. EST) -- still not in AutoUpdate
again...

For some reason, updates are first posted on Mactopia, and then, usually
several days or a week or so, become available via auto update. The fact
that autoupdate does not "see" the update does not mean that it has been
pulled, only that it is not yet available via that route.

Also, in case of known issues with the update, the updater itself would have
been removed from the website.

Hi Steve -

There must be something more to the issue. I had updated both my G5 & MBP
via SU over the weekend - prior to your first post - so it's definitely
there. Why your system isn't seeing it I have no idea. Perhaps a reinstall
of AutoUpdate may help. It also seems I remember some reported situations
where the ISP was suspect - apparently not seeing the MS server properly.

Yeah, this was definitely available through Microsoft AutoUpdate 1-2
days after the Mactopia release (we updated a bunch of computers here
at that time via AutoUpdate.)

Those we didn't update at that time (but were looking to update now)
are seeing the 11.5.3 update, but not the 12.1.5 update.

So, to confirm this...

I ran "Remove Office" and uninstalled Office 2008.

Installed Office 2008 from the master CD.

AutoUpdate showed the 12.1.0 update (so autoupdate is working and it's
not a DNS issue -- unless there are other servers for different
updates?) Installed that.

After that installed, the 12.1.3 update was available (installed that.)

After *that*, 12.1.4 showed. Installed that.

After **that** -- "no updates available at this time". (12.1.5 *was*
there earlier this week (I know last Friday/Saturday is was there...)

Can some friendly MVP send and e-mail or two up the chain to ask about
this? It would be appreciated.

Still not there as of the morning of Dec 22.

Is there a general "bug reporter" e-mail address I can send this
information to Microsoft about?

No email address, but if you choose Help/Send Feedback... from any
Office application, the message will get there.
