From your posts in other NGs it sounds as if you've already received an
answer and moved on, but FWIW in Word 2000 you View | Header and Footer and
insert your desired watermark anchored to the header paragraph. If it's a
picture, you'll need to change the wrapping to Behind Text. For text you can
use a text box or WordArt. For pictures there is a specific "Watermark"
color intensity setting; text or WordArt you will need to color manually.
Word's Help under "Create a watermark" is pretty helpful on this subject.
