I am using an intel imac ()2 ghz intel core 2 duo) and trying to
insert a watermark graphic and every time I do Word (Office 2004)
crashes. Any suggestions?

Such consistent and reproducible problems in Word usually respond to one
of the standard troubleshooting measures, which you will find listed here:

You might first test to make sure it isn't a corrupt document--can you
insert a watermark in other documents? (If not, damaged Prefs or a
corrupt Normal are the most frequent causes of problems)

It's also possible to manually create a watermark, which might have
different results.

Daiya is most lilely on the right track haere, but since you don't mention
specifics:

Make sure Office is flly updated (11.3.9)
Make sure OS X is updated & run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions
afterward if you have to do any OS updates.

If this & the troubleshooting steps don't resolve it post back with
particulars including the graphic format of the image and the steps you are
taking to create the watermark.

Thanks to all. I found it was a bad normal template. Also found that
my "automatic update" wasn't updating but now am good to go.
